At the entrance of Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove a big tarpaulin will greet every  visitor. You will  never  miss this  sign  while cruising the main  highway  going to Cavinti, Laguna.

Our adventure began as soon as we entered that gigantic sign. We hope you  have fun as we did……Near the  entrance of Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove is the Tourist Center where  the  tourist guide and  coordinators are staying. After the  briefing , I got even more excited and just cannot wait to get started.  We paid   P270 registration fee and we  were  set to go. The  trek to Pagsanjan Falls  via Cavinti, Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove, is best  for thrill seekers and as a plus, it is really so cheap, it is within anybody’s budget. There are  also  several falls  which  can  only be seen through El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove. The trail  is along one of the mountains of Cavinti which is just above the river leading to the  famous  Pagsanjan  Falls. The  initial  adventure  includes a  15-minute downhill concrete-paved walk. We  were also  accompanied  by  our  dog tour-guide who  is  fond   and used to  accompanying tourists in Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove.

At the  end  of the  15-minute walk at Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove going to  Pagsanjan Falls, we can already  hear the hissing sound of the running  water. And as we continued our downhill walk, the  sound  is  becoming  louder, I got so eager to see what was waiting for us. Then, we reached the first  falls of our trek, the “Nakulo falls.” Seeing and hearing the  sound of the  water  makes us even more enthusiastic of what lies before us.

DSC00357

As  we  walked towards the  center of Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove,  we saw other  equally  beautiful and truly striking falls along the way. Since this is  my  first time in  Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove in Cavinti,  I thought there is  only   one falls that awaits us, which is the  Pagsanjan Falls. To  our  surprise  the  other falls  are  comparable, if not  more beautiful than the Pagsanjan  Falls.

As we  continued on  our  trek  to  Pagsanjan  Falls via Cavinti, Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove,  our loyal dog tour-guide continued  to   accompany  us at the  heart of Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove.

The mist all over and surrounding the area adds beauty and mystifies the place. It was just like being in the movies, I was just waiting for fairies to greet us.

On our way to  Pagsanjan  Falls via Cavinti, Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove,  we  passed  by  countless walk ways with railings until  we reached the  statute of El Salvador Del Mundo.  – whoa!!!

DSC00371

At the  statute of El Salvador Del Mundo the stunning view of one of the  falls  is truly beyond words of description. How can a thing of this magnificence remain hidden. On second thought, thank God this thing of grandeur has been preserved and remains untouched.

DSC00374

It is also  in the  statute of El Salvador Del Mundo  in Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove  where our tour guides placed our safety harness. I’m starting to get flutters in my stomach, is it the excitement of what awaits or nervousness of what we are about to do. Our dog tour guide also lined up and  waited for his turn for the safety harness, or is he just fond of picture taking, or a loyal servant?

DSC00373

After our safety harness were all set, we then descended  the steep  metal  walk way ladder going to the Pagsanjan Falls.

DSC00360DSC00378

Our dog tour guide was  even more  excited than  us and  without   fear   he followed  us all the way down. However, luckily or unluckily, our  dog tour guide  cannot  accompany  us all the  way  down  as we  have  to  pass by a   90 degrees  vertical    railings  which can only be done through  rappelling  or through the vertical ladder steps. So for those thrill seekers and if you would like an adrenaline rush this will surely give you one. Just looking below, you know this is one experience that you will never tire of proudly relaying to your friends and we were just in the middle of the trip.

DSC00380

Since we were in the middle of a mountain in  Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove  in Cavinti we  have no choice   other than  to  brave the   vertical metal ladder enclosed by safety railings all the way to the bottom.  If you do not want to  climb the stairs all the way down, you can rappel down.

DSC00382

After rappelling,  another  steep  metal  stairs at the  Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove lead us to the foot of Pagsanjan Falls.

DSC00383

Then, another vertical metal ladder enclosed by safety railings. Again, you can  always  use the rappel  going  down.

DSC00384

After rappelling,  we again  continued our  trek. We never felt tired nor notice all the walking since  we were awed by  the  beauty of several other falls along our way to  Pagsanjan Falls. Here are some:

Another falls…

And another…

Aside from the falls, we were also entertained by a  family  of monkeys and other species in the  area which were as curious as we were.

DSC00391

Just when you are about to ask, “are we there yet?…” You will reach another station for  rappelling…

DSC00397

If your  fond of  rappelling  activity   this  is  definitely for you.

The  final descent  of the  steep ladder before the Pagsanjan  Falls.

And  finally, we were greeted by the colorful canoes and towering rock at the riverbanks.

DSC00401

EUREKA!!! Voila, the grandeur of Pagsanjan  Falls right before our very eyes.

DSC00406DSC00426
But wait – who would have thought that there is more that awaits us. We learned that the  most  exciting  part is not  the view of the  Pagsanjan  Falls but  getting  wet and  experiencing the  water-storm inside the cave behind this Pagsanjan Falls.  Just behind the falls, there is a cave that you can enter. Don’t hesitate because the experience within is truly unparalleled. You would never experience it anywhere else. The exhilarating rush of water, its thunderous sound, and feeling  one with the  nature makes the experience remarkable.

DSC00420

Pagsanjan Falls is not at its best when we had our visit  due to previous strong rains which makes the water look brownish. According to our tour guide, during the summer the water in the  Pagsanjan  Falls  is as blue  as the picture in their tarpaulin at the entrance of  Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove in Cavinti. Nonetheless, it is also not  a secret  that  Pagsanjan Falls is the  most visited and the  most famous  falls in the  Philippines. As for me,  never miss the  other falls   before the  Pagsanjan  falls which   can  only be  seen through  trekking via  Cavinti at Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove.

This is  probably  one  of the  BEST   ADVENTURES  I HAVE EVER   EXPERIENCED – Pagsanjan Falls via Cavinti at Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove.  The   entrance fee of P270 is even super cheap  considering the   investment  that the  municipality  has poured in  and  the cost of   safety  equipments that they have provided; not to mention the  tour  guides  and other persons who assisted and accompanied  us  all  through out  the adventure going  to  Pagsanjan  Falls  via Cavinti at Pueblo El Salvador Nature’s Park and Picnic Grove).

DSC00377

Of course, special  mention and thanks to “Bantay”  our  dog tour  guide who  patiently   accompanied  and waited for us until our return. Surely you have noticed him at almost every turn of our trek. Kudos!!!
